My whole life I been groomed to be an attorney. From the time I could walk I been going to courtrooms. Watching judges make decisions on discovery and other motions and so forth. Be a lawyer had always been intriguing to me so I set a path to achieve my goal. As time elapsed my desire to fight injustices grew and so did my passion. However the passion that had developed over time evaporated in an instant. While living in Florida these past few years my view of the justice system from both the side of the state as well as the Defense, disgust me. This disgust comes from a decision hardened down by a Judge in Palm Beach County Fl. The decision, however reprehensible, it was to allow an obviously mentally handicapped individual to stand trial as an adult with no prejudice. The precedence set by this appalling decision should have sent shockwaves through the judicial system instead nobody even blinked an eyelash that was my defining moment.
